Volunteer Advisory Groups - How
To Apply For Membership
Applications
for the Volunteer Advisory Groups are always welcome. Please submit your application
to the City Clerk, it will be retained for one year in active status.
It is strongly recommended that applicants attend a meeting of the Advisory
Body for which they have applied.
When
a vacancy occurs, applicants will be contacted to determine if they are
still interested, if their application is current and to establish an
interview with the City Council Subcommittee.
Upon
completion of the interview process, the City Council Subcommittee makes
a recommendation at a regular meeting for the City Council to approve
the appointment. Once this process is complete, the new member is administered
the Oath of Office at the following Council Meeting.
Please
note that some advisory body members are required to file a Statement
of Economic Interest (also referred to as a Conflict of Interests Statement)
disclosing certain business, property and investment holdings which might
conflict with the member’s decisions.
